what kind of information we collect when you use the site and what kind we do not: Google Analytics and traffic data analysis

Like everyone who has a website and uses it to sell or promote something, we are interested in knowing who visits the site, what he is looking for and where he comes from. This in technical terms is called “traffic data analysis” and to do this we use Google Analytics – here there are the privacy information and personal data protection.

what kind of information we collect

Google Analytics has a lot of advanced functionality which allow you to know many things about who visits a website. We use it only to know essentials things: who visits the website – his language, location, device, browser and operating system – what he is looking at – classical data traffic: page views, average time and the ranking of the most viewed pages, etc. – and where he comes from – the so-called referrals: if you log in from Facebook, Google, from the newsletter and so on.

All the information that Google Analytics collects arrives to us anonymously. This means that we do not know what your name is, where do you live, what your email address is, what kind of pages you have seen, how much time you have spent on the website and where you came from, but only that in a certain period many people were visiting the site and they were looking on it for a certain period and they have seen some pages, etc.

what kind we do not

But, we do not use Google Analytics to gather information to be used for advertising. Therefore, in our Google Analytics account all the functions used to advertise on the internet are disabled. Another thing that we do not use is the User ID function, which allows you to track who uses the website when it changes device: first computer, then tablet and so on.

where there information are

All the information that Google Analytics collects are on Google Analytics and nowhere else. This means that Google keeps the information and that we must not make copies of them and we must not store them elsewhere, neither on our computers nor printed on our desks. When we want to look at the traffic data we go to Google Analytics and we see it there.

who has access to these information

Only one person has access to our Google Analytics account: Clara Cosenza, the marketing manager. No one else has the access to this account and to the information it contains. We do not share them in any way and with anyone else or with third parties.

how to block Google Analytics

If you do not want that Google Analytics tells us these things about you, you can use this Google extension: it exists for all the major browsers. If you want you can also look at the information that Google makes available on Google Analytics privacy and data protection.

our mailing list: what kind of information we collect, how we collect them and what we send to you

The mailing list is one of our communication, sharing and sales tools. To manage it we use MailChimp  – here there is their privacy policy. Let’s see in detail what kind of information we gather, where we store them and with whom we share them and how we use them.

what kind of information we gather

When you sign up to our mailing list – from the home page or from any other page that contains the appropriate form – we ask you to enter these information: your name and email address. We also use a merge tag to track the page you sign up from.

how we gather these information

To show the registration forms and to collect these kinds of information we use a WordPress plug-in called MailChimp for WordPress. This plug-in sends your name, your email address and the page you signed up to our MailChimp account. Send to MailChimp some information which are related to the registration: among others, the date, time and the method you used to sign up.

what we send to you

When you subscribe to our mailing list, we send you an email per month to notify you of the monthly magazine released. You can choose what kind of contents you want to receive only updating your preferences on MailChimp. You can find the link in the footer of our emails.

WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION MAILCHIMP KEEPS AND WHERE

MailChimp keeps these information on its servers. In turn, we store a complete daily backup of the Excel mailing list in a safe place.

WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION MAILCHIMP STORES FOR WORDPRESS AND WHERE

MailChimp stores for WordPress some of your information related to the subscription on the mailing list: your name and your email and IP address.

We do not share these information with MailChimp for WordPress. So, are stored only on our servers. Every 30 days we automatically delete the information collected by MailChimp for WordPress that are stored on our servers.

WHO HAS ACCESS TO THESE INFORMATION

Only one person has access to our Google Analytics account: Clara Cosenza, the marketing manager.

HOW TO MODIFY THESE INFORMATION

If you want to modify the MailChimp information or choose what kind of contents you want to receive you can use a page where you can update or change your preferences on MailChimp. You can find the link in the footer of our emails.

WHY WE USE FACEBOOK PIXEL AND WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE TRACKED

On the website, we have install the Facebook pixel. Now we show you why we use it and what you need to do if you do not want to be tracked.

HOW WE USE FACEBOOK PIXEL AND HOW WE PLAN TO USE IT IN THE FUTURE

This tool helps us to track the performance of our Facebook advertising campaigns. In the future, we can use it to show who visits the site or a page of the website or to show our advertising on Facebook – the so-called retargeting.

WHAT KIND OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE GATHER

No one. Facebook pixel helps us to track only what you do when you arrive in our website from Facebook. Maybe you click on our advertising: but what did you do after? You arrived on our interested page, you did what we hoped for or you gave up and moved on to something else, you clicked on one button or on another? Things like that.

But, Facebook does not show us these information explicitly. It shows us only data in an anonymous way. So, we do not know that you – name, surname, email address, your Facebook profile – did this or that, but only how many people did something in a certain period.

If you want to know more look to the GDPR Facebook page and looks for the pixel dedicated parts – unfortunately we cannot link them directly.

WHERE ARE THESE INFORMATION

The collected Facebook pixel information are on Facebook. This means that Facebook stores them and we cannot store copies of them, neither on our computers nor printed on our desks. When we want to see these data, we look to the Facebook Business Manager.

WHO HAS ACCESS TO THIS INFORMATION

Only one person has access to our Google Analytics account: Clara Cosenza, the marketing manager. No one else has the access to this account and to the information it contains. We do not share them in any way and with anyone else or with third parties.

HOW TO BLOCK FACEBOOK PIXEL

The faster way is to use the cookie banner policy which appears the first time you arrive on the website in order to refuse third-party cookies. If you have already accepted cookies but now you want to block Facebook pixel, delete all the stored cookies by using the browser settings, reload the page and then refuse third-party cookies.
